THE KIN MCC CONSTITUTION CLUB FOUNDING STATEMENT The Kin Motorcycle Club was founded by a group of friends who enjoy riding their motorcycles together. Friends, who felt that they could depend on one another, call on one another in times of need and who share similar morals, values and interests. CLUB MISSION STATEMENT The aim of the Club is for guys (women not excluded) to enjoy riding their bikes together as friends, in harmony, as a social group, where there is friendship, mutual respect, loyalty, protection, help and unity. Members respect one another’s lives outside the club and the biking community. i.e. religion, Work and family come before the Club. CLUB VISION It is the vision of the club to become well respected by all who we encounter for our quality, honesty, integrity, dignity and contribution to the community (not only the biking community) VALUES WHICH WE STAND FOR AND ACTIVELY STRIVE FOR family and friendship respect and mutual respect trust and trustworthiness integrity and loyalty freedom of riding our bikes CLUB RULES The consequence for violating the club rules is immediate expulsion from the club and a member’s colours will be retrieved by a 75% majority at a full club meeting attended by a minimum of 10 full members. Behavior when attending club functions, rallies, day jols or any other time when a member is wearing his or her colours or representing the club, must always be in accordance with the clubs constitution. The Kin colours must be worn and treated with respect at all times i.e. do not leave lying around Members shall at no stage bring the club into disrepute as judged by the club. Colours must be worn on a black leather waistcoat (not denim) in the positions prescribed by the club. MEMBERSHIP Once a prospective member has successfully completed the new member’s procedure and become a member, subject to the club rules and constitution. Only club members may vote at meetings regarding club issues and decisions. There are no club fees, but should the club require funds for anything, and it has been voted in, then the club members are expected to contribute. COLOURS The club colours shall consist of a small patch worn on the front left breast of the waistcoat as well as a small country name patch just above it. The large patch, motto, chapter and nickname are worn on the back of the waistcoat. Pillion colours shall consist of the large patch worn on the reverse side of the waistcoat. No other patches may be worn. NEW MEMBERS PROCEDURE To become a club member the applicant must have a bike. The applicant, in a 12 month period, must attend a minimum of 4 rallies, 10 day jols, 6 breakfast runs and 10 monthly club meetings with the club. The applicant after fulfilling the new member’s criteria, must have established friendships with the member’s and must get voted in by the member’s present at the 11th monthly meeting in the process, with a majority vote of 75% of 10 full club members. The prospect shall be absent at the time of the voting. At the time when a new member gets elected as a member, his or her spouse automatically qualifies as a member. Should a member wish that his/her companion (boyfriend, girlfriend or fianc) ride with the club pillion colours may be worn by him/her after 6 months. The cost of a full set of colours (determined by the treasurer) is payable and is non refundable. After 12 months if he/she has completed the new member’s procedure and is voted in by 75% of the full members present he/she is eligible for full colours. New member’s joining fee is prescribed by the Treasurer, which includes the large and small Kin badges, nickname, country and club motto. *Cash upfront*. CHAPTERS To start a chapter there needs to be a minimum of 5 members in that constituency. Chapters may govern themselves but must comply with the club constitution, which is applicable to all. Chapters over 20 members qualify for their own rank including a President. Below 20 members chapters qualify for a Chapter Leader. MONTHLY MEETINGS Club meetings will be on a date set by the president/Chapter leader of a chapter or the Master at Arms. The venue will rotate between chapters. CLUBHOUSE The Kin clubhouse is situated at Cowies Pub in Randburg. |
